encapsulated the tumblr era perfectly and set the STONE for a bountiful career

 

definitely want her to experiment w/ genres again next era, would not be against a return to electro indie pop 

 

Grins is still her best song. I fear she will never be able to top it 

This is one of the best pop albums ever made, and it hasn’t aged at all.  Truly the blueprint for her career and an insane way for any pop artist to debut. 

The birth of an ARTIST! Queen of pop! She did that and more

Her best album and one of the best pop albums of the 2010s  There's no duds here

 

I love the coherence of the production flourishes you hear throughout the album, on Nuclear Seasons, Grins, Lock You Up, etc.

Her best album. Fight me. The only one that comes close to topping this (for me) is probably Charli or N1A.

ahhh that’s a classic right there! i stanned right from the first time i listened to the iconic new wave anthem You’re the One, and this whole album became my fav to listen to while walking to and from high school  it was the era of my life where i’d obsess over one song at a time and then move onto a different one a few weeks later, but for the rest of high school You’re the One and Black Roses were my absolute favs! i also liked Stay Away as easy listening between orchestra rehearsals and other classes, and What I Like during smoke sessions in the woods near my parents’ house  lemme do a relisten this evening!!

I discovered this album and Charli XCX right after Marina & the Diamonds uploaded "Just Desserts" and I got curious to check out who this girl is

 

Black Roses, Stay Away, Nuclear Seasons, Set Me Free, Take My Hand, So Far Away..... MY GOD, so many excellent sad dark synth pop tracks

also the she featured Icona Pop's I Love It. what a moment back in the day.

Still in her top 3 of her albums Can't even pick a top 5 or whatever.

 

Remembering the pain her stans were feeling when all of the album (minus Black Roses I think) had been released before the album and that affecting their enjoyment of the album until she switched her sound with Sucker and suddenly that was all forgiven Classic stans being stans in any size stanbase.

i think i spent an entire summer listening to this and only this  what a moment it was.

nuclear seasons is still one of her best 

overrated album tho. she has plenty of better projects. its a solid debut tho

An underground cultural reset

A classic that aged like fine wine.  I still think this is her 2nd best after pop2

i think this album doesn't get enough flowers for basically pioneering the tumblr pop aesthetic sound and aesthetic. she was so interesting to come out the gate with a project like this. back then when she had sweet bridges and explosive choruses. if effy stonem was a popstar this is what her album would've sounded like
