I liked the name HBO Max, but this is for the best because adding all those reality shows would honestly do more damage to the HBO brand than anything. HBO can stay a standalone network with great movies + docs/shows. No need to tarnish the brand with TLC shows.

 

However, the MAX name is pretty dumb. So is Discovery+ for sure being merged with Max?

I think it would do more damage to the HBO brand adding shows like Dr. Pimple Popper, tbh.

As long as they don't go raising the monthly subscription price because it's already pricy, tbh. Does this mean that "HBO" is no longer a thing at all? Like are there currently two apps: HBO and HBOMax? Or is it just HBOMax at this point?

HBO is nerwork tv, Max is streaming sevice. These two can co exist.

I honestly think removing HBO from the name was the right call, just because it was tarnishing the HBO brand by expanding it to all of the content Warner and Discovery offer and not only having the prestige quality content that HBO offers.
