Judging by the numbers, I would say ATRLers lied.

Yep, HoG was the true proof that Gaga is a MOVIE STAR, baby. As usual Monsters fell for the ATRL narrative that it flopped but her being the main draw for a mixed-reviewed adult drama during the pandemic  sealed the deal. When the movie is mixed or bad and the actor/actress can still draw people to the theatre is when you know they're a star. 
 

Keep in mind Air has amazing reviews, the best word of mouth of the year, a $7M Superbowl TV spot, and huge starpower.

Gaga is one of the very few butt in seats movie stars right now. I'd say shes probably the biggest movie star right now in terms of making people watch a movie just because of her. Maybe along Keanu Reeves and The Rock

Gaga is without a doubt one of the top female box office draws right now. I think keeping her personal life private really helps, she can disappear into different roles. The biggest stars like Sandra Bullock don't even have social media and keep their private lives private. It hurts Gaga in music because these days it's all about dating famous men and having PR break-ups with them and releasing songs to capitalize, but in film her low profile private life has helped her.
