Joss Stone's third studio album Introducing Joss Stone debuts at number two on Billboard 200, becoming the highest debut entry by a British female solo artist on the US chart; the record was previously held by Amy Winehouse's Back to Black, which had debuted at number seven the previous week.

Back To Black debuted with 51,000 copies

Currently rewatching Rachel MacAdams Morning Glory where Ms. Joss has a song.

She deserved that and more. Her first 4 albums are all just incredible and Tell Me Bout It was a BOP and she ate up the video

 

It sucks that the more effective push this album got in the US made her home market kind of turn on her. I remember around that time they were calling her out for Americanizing her sound and even pronounciation to make it big(ger) in America. Which was SO dumb ; her sound was always a tribute to older American music and her accent was always light. That, combined with her label not being on board with the follow-up album to this (which is honestly her best work) kind of ended her mainstream career but I don't think she cared one bit.

She truly didnt care... she's still touring, enjoying that and making some money out of it.

Joss was already established at this point, Back to Black was Amy's US debut. BTB ended up far outselling IJS.

 

Joss is so underrated though and deserved more commercial success, she has an incredible voice

This song has grown on me over the years... but it is still not my fave Joss song.

I rode my bike through the highway to Walmart to buy my this album. The physical era was something else.

Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Lily Allen, Natasha Bedingfield, KT Tunstall, Susan Boyle, Leona Lewis, Duffy and Corinne Bailey Rae (off the top of my head) all scored top 10 albums in the US in this mid-to-late 2000s period  the UK was exporting TALENT

Don’t forget about Dido having huge album sales and peaks in 2001 and 2003 with her first two albums  she really walked so the others girls could run
