i’ll never get this  i mean, i kinda do because these albums have their release dates and schedules planned way before. but there’s always an album/song that pretty much collects easy weeks at #1 for like 10+ weeks and nobody moves a finger but when the points/sales get really high then everybody wants to release…

The way that Top 5 these past few months has just been an absolute mess  especially that #2 spot 

It's also funny looking at the Apple Music US album chart. Every week new releases get to #2, #3, #4, but dont think Morgan has ever been moved from #1 so far

Blame vinyl production and record labels.

 

The time it takes to manufacture vinyls tends to lock in release dates 6 months in advance. The record labels don't want to move release dates around and potentially block another artist on the same label from the Top 3 or whatever they are aiming for. This causes friction between the label and the artists.

Is Lover her biggest album at this point? Does anybody know the Soundscan sales or SPS of all her albums? This is insane. Considering the fact people called it a flop at one point (which it never was).

No, but it could definitely be amongst her top sellers when all is said and done. It's her best-selling album in China, yet even that metric doesn't propel it to the top when it comes to the overall figure, and certainly not in the US.

Lover will probably end up her second biggest album overall when all is said and done if it keeps going like this.
