1) The Biden WH didn't lobby Congress for a funding bill to make more Jynneos and now with this House it won't be possible

 

2) Our ACAM2000 stockpile is useless as it can't be administered outside basically military base hospitals with weeks of monitoring to avoid bursting the skin bubbles, etc.

 

3) The vaccine drives during late Pride season started way too late + it's numbers were piss-poor with MSM of color (except maybe Atlanta) 

 

4) The Biden WH dangerously assumed so many diseases that spread particularly in Africa didn't have any risk of coming here so they let 20 million doses worth of material expire in Denmark while re-prioritizing any that remained to bioterrorism, then had the gall late into the outbreak to keep that bioterrorism designation and not free the materials until months into the crisis

 

5) The inevitable wearing off of these doses when trying to respond to an inevitably stronger strain this summer with what was originally given will fuel further anti-vax conspiracies and homophobia because we apparently can't be proactive about ANYTHING medically in this country, including anticipating and studying this possibility to be prepared by June with a stronger vaccine

Given the original track from Africa to Belgium to the U.S and that a lot of MSM travel internationally, especially post-Covid lockdowns during Pride, any wave here is going to have knock-on effects globally, especially if there's a worse strain than the two strains currently circulating here that develops.

There won't be once it's opened nationally to the entire populous, that's the point. With the caveat of strict limitations still on who can get it, there's appointments available. 

 

MSM who haven't had sex with anyone for months if not years but happen to be around a lot of MSM, especially during Pride, should be allowed to get vaccinated, regardless of anyone close to them having gotten monkeypox or not, but that's simply not the case right now in multiple states.
