It’s one of those songs that definitely has aged and sounds of its time, but it adds to its charm. It’s akin to BOMT or Bad Romance (but not quite at their level of “classic”).
 

I know lots of straights who still use and love this song. It’s the perfect balance of girl power lyrics, dumb and catchy repetition, and Britney’s very distinct delivery. It’s a fun throwback that most people remember fondly. Which boils down to a classic

Truly a Comeback! I remember my city news station had a segment for it and I lived in Chicago, one of the biggest cities in America. Also the Music Video use to stay on MTV everyday for months. I always felt like the song was Bigger than it probably was. It’s May sound dated a little now, but it still sounds good in the Car.
