Not racist, BUT it is an oversight and disrespectful. The losing team is never invited, so inviting them makes winning.... pointless?

Why should second place be rewarded a first place prize ALONGSIDE the team that won.

You're pretty much telling them "you were the best" BUT "these people were good too so they can come"

It is not ok.

I agree. Especially in light of what happened with every white commentator on Twitter giving Caitlin Clark a pass for her “unsportsmanlike behavior,” but dogpiling on Angel Reese, calling her a piece of **** and a disgrace for taunting her back with what she dished out.

Where? If you search on Twitter, it's the opposite.

i'm like no one invites da loser Dr Jill, worse this news comes after da attacks Angel Reese has been enduring over her "un-sportsmanship conduct"

There are a bunch more, but clearly you weren’t looking too hard.

The White House doesn’t have anything better to focus on than basketball games? Athletes get treated like Gods, yet activists who saved animals get arrested.

Everyone working there is capable of multi-tasking and working on multiple things at once.

You know, like most humans with brains do.

NCAA champions get invited to White House receptions all the time. This isn’t something new they decided to do to simply waste time or whatever.

What’s egregious here is her talking about inviting the losing team as well. The “co-valedictorian” analogy in the tweet I posted above is quite apt for this honestly.

And yes, activists who save animals from factory farms get arrested because the government’s primary role is to protect capitalism. Human rights are an afterthought, and animal rights aren’t even considered at all. That’s what you get with people like Joe Biden.

and there is so so so much more

Obviously I doubt there was malicious intent, but there are a lot of Black people who have experienced watching the goal posts shift whenever a popular white person doesn’t get their way. Suddenly an award isn’t based on GPA but based on who the admin likes the best, suddenly there can be two class presidents, suddenly the teacher can overrule a team’s vote for captain…

A lot of times we rightfully “earn” things just to see the definitions switch to accommodate others.

Yeah, that makes no sense to invite the losing team too. :bibliahh:If LSU had lost, Jill definitely wouldn't have invited them.

Uh she’s the First Lady. She’s not a government official. Her job is literally plush, non-event stuff like this.

White liberals micro-racism that they themselves don’t know they partake in is always hilarious to observe.

Yea this is a big reach. 😂

obviously the losing team shouldn’t be invited so that was stupid and more in line of every one deserves a trophy mentality alot of teachers like herself have.

Dr Jill “Breakfast Tacos” Biden would not be offering a participation trophy to LSU had Iowa won.

She’s every bit as racist as her crime bill-touting husband.

The primarily black LSU team was met with so much vitriol on social media for doing the same exact things as the primarily white Iowa team that this would have been a great opportunity for Jill Biden to create some gentle education on micro aggressions yet unfortunately she fell into those same micro aggressions as everyone else by thinking it was appropriate to invite the losing team to celebrate alongside the victors.

This is the same “participation trophy” nonsense that conservatives hate but done so in a slightly racially motivated way that the left hates.  She really made a big mistake here.
