getBusy Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Damn I must be deaf AF, everyone saying AM sounds much better but when I tried it a couple months ago I couldn't find any difference 💀 Not even when playing through the Sonos. Did y'all have the audio quality setting on Spotify set to 'very high'??? IMO, playlists and user interface remain superior on Spotify.
velocity Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 I don't pay for streaming anymore but if apple music was better on android i might be convinced to. Spotify is just one long ass playlist, i always loved how you can mix your streaming songs and owned files on AM into one library. Unforunately the app is so bad that it was literally unusable.
Fevesy Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 I'd use AM if the desktop program wasn't such a clunky unresponsive mess but I heard there's a new version in beta The other thing is when I'm with my friends it's fun to all queue up songs on the TV from our phones since we all use Spotify. I had Youtube Music for a few months free and it was kinda a serve ngl.
Hephaestus Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 The difference in audio quality alone is enough of a reason to never come back to Spotify for me. I also don't care for Spotify's features in general, Apple Music's library management and Spatial Audio are way more important for my taste and usage.

Their app runs smoothly, everything is easy, convenient, and smooth. But yeah.. the sound quality isn’t it. Apple Music has MUCH MUCH MUCH better sound quality it’s insane. Like I actually get upset at how bad Spotify’s is in comparison. But everything else about Apple Music is rather clunky and annoying. it’s a tough choice between interface and quality. I’m sure you are nice but indecisive people (in general again not you) like you get on my nerves. Just pick one I don’t like the Apple Music interface Edited March 27, 2023 by G.U.Y. Gaga
Timeless Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Most artists' main focus is Spotify so I'd rather support them there.
Selegend Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 All of u saying Spotify sound is this bad — have u tried switching the sound quality from “normal” to “high” quality? U can do it. Its still not as good as Apple Music, i’ve tested it several times but its definetly not as big as u guys r saying after switching it to high quality. And i use AirPods and iPhone, so everything “Apple” and i still decided to stick with Spotify after changing my sound quality to “high”, the diference from it to Apple Music after switching to High is so smaller
Iceland Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 just create and import your Spotify playlists to Apple Music using songshift every now and then. The AM alghoritm will catch up at some point
ScorpiosGroove Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 the music quality is a lot better on AM but their autoplay/algorithm is just pure ass. you could play beethoven and the next song in line will be super bass
suneclipse121 Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 (edited) AM is so much superior. Especially if you have an iPhone and care about sound quality. Playlists are extremely easy to make too. Never got the hype with Spotify. It was ok when I tried it and missed some features that AM has. Edited March 27, 2023 by suneclipse121
raven Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 I've tried both for extended periods of time and always found AM to be clunky and a nightmare to use on desktop. Plus I never found the sound quality to be that drastically different? So yeah, spotify >>>
theweekend Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 good luck with that what I really wanted is Apple Music to start introducing the Listen options/filters on Library and make it easier to use Library on CarPlay with is a mess. apart from it, I've been a more than a decade user with no problems at all.

I listen to music on good headphones and the difference in sound quality is so much better it shocked me. This part. If you have good headphones the quality of sound on AM is incomparably better
ToMmY Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Probably not the best time to do that. Spotify completely ruined the home screen with the new TikTok-like update and it's making a lot of people cancel their membership. I personally hate it and for the first time I'm contemplating looking for another music streaming service.
Miss Fortune Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 The biggest issue with AM is no crossfade on mobile.

Alldeezy Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Spotify is the better app it just sucks about the quality but that's its only cons.
