The general public really don’t care. Not even being mean, they really have zero interest in Shazam. 
 

I was gonna go see it this weekend but just skipped it and will wait till it streams. And I’m a massive Comicbook movie goer, and even I am getting tired of new superhero movies every other month. So I wonder how the general public feels. I’m not saying fatigue, cuz I’m still going to every marvel movie first day. But I do think I’m gonna stop going to DC CBM opening weekends now. Last DC movie I actually enjoyed fully was Wonder Women and that was what? Like 6 years ago? Damn

The first Shazam was cool, actually saw it in theaters when it first came out but it's not must see especially when I know it'll be out on HBO Max in 2-3 months (maybe less with how poorly it's performing). Idk I feel like this one didn't have a ton of hype around it this time.

They dropped the ball by not bringing more awareness to the character by having him appear in other shows/movies, mass spam the first movie on other streamings and TV, I mean the movie is good it wouldn't really hurt, and also not bringing a larger connection to the universe and including another major charatcter in the plot.  The cameo doesn't count lol. The marvel formula is out there to copy.

 

The fact that Black Adam and Shazam 2 came out in a span of 4 months and have no connection to one another is reason enough why the DCEU needs to start over.

The movies are not conected because the Rock hates Shazam. He wanted to keep Black Adam and Shazam separate .

 

Black Adam was going to appear in the first movie, but he wanted a solo movie. He was offered a cameo in Shazam 2, but he said no thanks.

 

The Rock's ego really derailed what could've been a good franchise .

The movie is really good though! If you like the first, go see it. It's still a really good movie and was good to see on the big screen.

 

Zachary Levi is easily the worst thing about the movie. Hope we never see him on anything ever again, him and his conservative anti-vax views.
