while Scream debuted closer to a time where movies have gotten an increased gross

so it's not rly about which was better

 

 

however Halloween has a much bigger impact

but Scream is like the last huge slasher

And yet 7 Halloween movies have come out after Scream debuted and they’ve only amounted to 699m compared to 6 Scream movies netting nearly 200 million more at 862m and counting

the better franchise keeps on winning, but we should focus on the REAL enemy, friday the 13th. out of a whopping twelve (12!) movies only 3 are kinda good, that's pathetic if you ask me

The consistency of Scream at the Box Office for a horror franchise is truly impressive and its thanks to the characters / world building on top of the icon, the moment that is Ghostface.

 

Even Scre4m, with lukewarm reception from a more hostile GP adverse to horror legacy sequels thanks to the mess that was the 00s, that ended up leaving the series dormant for another decade, made almost $100m WW.

but it's what Scream deserves, since it actually gives a **** about its sequels, unlike Hallodud

1,021,881,996 / 9 movies = 113.5m average

862,500,000 / 6 movies = 143.7m average

I love both franchises but let's be honest - Scream always served quality with production, cast, and marketing. Most Halloween sequels were quick cash grabs with direct-to-video budget.
