Americans really are the Karens of the planet… Just because in your culture is normal to tip for everything (because your country can’t make laws to defend workers with a minimum wage), it doesn’t mean that it is normal in other cultures or countries. Live outside your bubble for one second :rip:

Not this thread filled with cheapskates :rip: i try and tip at least 20% whenever i order delivery.

This. If you don’t want to tip, get your lazy ass up and get your own **** :cm: My opinion has always been, that blaming consumers for not tipping is taking the blame away from companies who have more than enough money to pay their employees but refuses to do so.  I don’t get mad at people for not tipping, but if you’re being a dick about having to tip and to the person who’s doing a service for you, then you don’t need eat out, get delivery or whatever.  I always tip because even though I don’t think it’s our responsibility, it’s still helping people out who work hard and is getting ****** by capitalism. People have bills

EDIT: Was any one even asking on non american’s opinions on this? if it’s not apart of your culture to tip, obviously no one is talking to you and no one is “forcing you” to do anything. :dies: You forced yourself into the conversation :dies:

I really don't get the 'cheapskate, lazy ass, go get your food instead' argument. I'm literally paying a delivery fee on top of the cost of the food. Ain't like I'm expecting the food to be delivered to my house for free. How is the delivery guy doing me a favour when I'm literally PAYING for said service? :rip:

Y'all Americans are insane with this tipping nonsense

I sometimes tip when I get a Döner (I give 7 instead of 6€) because I love my habibis. The rest can choke.

I’m sorry i don’t agree. The driver is doing YOU a huge favor doing the driving for YOU so you can eat at a convenience.

I understand everyone isn’t rich but you don’t get to use the platform then not tip. It’s disgusting.

If you can’t afford to tip well/correctly then stop being lazy & go get the food yourself.

For some people this is a force living under unfortunate circumstances & you wouldn’t want someone doing that to you or a love one in a desperate attempt of making Living.

Imagine not tipping the person who used their gas to bring you food because you were lazy.

1$??? Joke!!!!

The app should tell the drivers BEFORE picking up the food on how much the person tips so they can decide if they want to do it!

"a huge favor"

It's their job. If Americans don't pay their workers shitty that's on them and I feel sorry for the drivers but 20% on top is just so outlandish to a European. For what?

Or politicians and laws gaslit you into thinking the normal guy next door is the evil force here and not the suits sitting in Washington.

I feel like you're the delusional one here. Get your workers rights straight before you come for countries that pay a fair amount of money so the people can live off of it.

That said, I only tip at the restaurant.

Don’t use the app if you can’t TIP! It’s that simple. Go get into your car & get your own food.

End of story!

I don't have a car, I live in a walkable city with great public transportation. Like I said, I tip at the restaurant and never order home anyway cause It's silly if the store is down the street. Plus I like to get it myself. Here in Germany there's already a fee included which will be payed our workers. The tip is an extra for outstanding service, not a necessity to survival. That sounds medieval to me.

Tipping 1 dollar counts as tipping :foxaylove2:

If you're making them come up to your 4th floor walk up apartment and not tipping you're an ******* lol

I always try to tip because I know that (in the US) they rely on tips for most of their earnings. Obv this doesn't apply to most other countries

Y’all sound so dense and honestly stupid  in this thread. Should these businesses be paying their workers enough so that WE as customers do not have to tip? Definitely.

And yet here you are, giving this business you claim should “pay their workers better!” your money and service but then ******* over the underpaid worker who is actually doing you a service, using their gas and car.

If you don’t think a company should be expecting YOU to pay their workers, then don’t support those companies. Instead, you support the company because you want your greasy, fattening food but then **** the service worker over and alleviate your cognitive dissonance by telling yourself it’s “not your responsibility to tip them!”

If y’all are so ******* broke that you can’t afford tipping a couple dollars to someone doing YOU a luxury service then just accept that you don’t make enough money to have people waiting on or delivering your food to you and go ******* make it yourselves. This mentality has never and will never make sense. Y’all sound entitled and broke. You can’t have both. Pick one

Lmao plz. We as Americans aren’t compensated well and therefore many service workers rely on customer tips just to survive. This isn’t our fault, it’s the capitalistic government and system we live under. It’s oppressive. Your inability to cultivate empathy does not invalidate the points being made in this thread. If you’re not American then you clearly won’t get it, therefore… how can you speak on it? Next!Oprah Winfrey Concert GIF by CBS

Y'all can say whatever you want but yes it is the responsibility of the employer to pay their employee fairly but they don't so if you don't tip, then that worker just finishes their shift with little money to take home. You not tipping won't inspire the employer to pay more, they just say "maybe tomorrow will be better for you" and send you on your way. If you can't afford to tip or aren't willing, then cook at home. Your little protest doesn't hurt the business, it hurts the worker. You can't claim to care about them not getting paid enough in one moment and then withhold a tip in the next.

Americans are so stupid :toofunny3: Just force companies to pay workers fair like in every normal country. And get normal, free health care you loosers :gaycat7:

No. The wages a worker makes are between the worker and the employer. The customer literally has nothing to do with it.

It should be the worker who stops doing business with the company, not the person ordering the food. If all customers stop ordering, the company goes out of business and the worker loses their income. If all workers decided to stop working for shitty wages, the company would be forced to pay a higher wage.

I still tip because tipping culture is what it is in America and I can afford to give a little extra. But workers have 0 right getting mad at customers who don't tip. Direct that anger where it should go, at the company who pays your checks.

Wrong. They are not doing a FAVOR, they are doing their JOB. Customers shouldn't be expected to tip ever, the companies should pay them better.

The only time i ever tip is if I'm with a LARGE group of people who are ordering alot and asking for a lot and basically making the servers have to work extra. I will then leave a nice tip but for regular service, i never tip because I don't believe in it otherwise.

If there's anything we need to stop spreading, it's the ******* American tipping culture. It's in Canada now and makes everything so bloody unaffordable. What's next? Tipping your landlord? Seriously, just pay your workers livable wages and stop develoing your idiotic begger gigs economy.

What’s wrong with people. Since when it’s the consumer’s job to pay employees because some of them don’t get the minimum wage. :bibliahh:
If you don’t want to tip just don’t order. What’s bs statement.
