mystery Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 DEADLINE: Daisy Edgar-Jones To Star In ‘Twisters’ For Amblin And Universal Pictures Following her critically acclaimed work in Normal People and Where The Crawdads Sing, Daisy Edgar-Jones has found her first studio tentpole as she is set to star in Twisters, a new chapter to the 1996 box-office hit for Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures. Lee Isaac Chung is on board to direct from a script by Mark L. Smith. The film will be co-financed by Warner Bros. Starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton, Twister was a massive hit in 1996, scoring more than $494 million at the worldwide box office, thanks in no small part to the film’s ground-breaking special effects. The original film was helmed by Speed director Jan De Bont and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, with a screenplay by author Michael Crichton.
MusicLoverDude Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 I'm a huge weather nerd and loved Twister as a kid. It would be interesting to see what they with this given in the near 30 years since we've had a lot of massive tornadoes occur and tornadoes to take inspiration from (Tuscaloosa, Joplin, the Moore tornadoes, etc)
Subzero Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 I'm so excited for this I loved this movie growing up and still watch it all the time. I always wanted a sequel
mystery Posted March 17, 2023 Author Posted March 17, 2023 Honestly I feel like if done right this could be a mini Top Gun next year. The original is thrilling and iconic. The director did Minari and the writer did The Revenant and Ovelord (not amazing but I would argue it was intense and well done).
PMKARDASHIAN Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 CANT WAIT! I loved this movie as a kid and I still watch it from time to time
fridayteenage Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Where the Taylors sing really made her a star whew
Gossip_Boy Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Not expecting it to top the original by any means but I hope the sequel lives up to its legacy. Twister is iconic they better not **** it up.
Uncatena Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 the recipe for a good sequel is there tbh but I won't hold my breath lemme rewatch the original
