Oh I had completely forgot about this one, from that list I think that Zoe and Selena could have a chance since they slayed Cannes and maybe Ariana for Wicked; and Cailee was good but I don't think it's enough for a nomination (thinking that there would be better performances)

Exciting, cannot wait for this and hope it is big for Jlo

I have a feeling she'll be able to bounce back with this. Her next film can also add further credence of respect to her acting career.

Latest rumor is that this new J.Lo flick will be premiering at Toronto International Film Festival this September (so very soon!)

@zach can you update the thread title according to the format:

Or let me takeover the thread since you basically created it and then dipped :rip:

:gaylocat1: I wish she only took on more serious projects like this, even if it means taking on more supporting roles! But she loves to be the Lead carrying a film even if the project is meh. Ego maybe or more $$$?

Runtime nearly 2 hours:

Love me some JLo!! Unfortunately, she really likes to PR and control her public image which has hurt her brand a bit recently compared to Super Bowl/Hustlers buzz.

She'll bounce back, I think she should just focus on acting moving forward and keep being an incredible live performer touring/residency wise.

Hustlers premiered at tiff too right?

I wonder if she will be in good terms with Ben by then since he's a producer, it will look odd if they go to the red carpet solo.

Anyway I wonder if this means that's she's entering the race for BSA then she will be against Gaga, but at this point a nomination will be just fine and she can also win some independent awards.

Let's go Jenny!

I think they'll be fine and keep it professional.

I'm surprised Oscar's buzz is starting around this project and J.Lo already.

I think if anything she hasn't controlled her PR and public image in recent years, but that's just my opinion.

*select theaters. Probably limited screens so they can campaign for awards season (it needs a limited theater run).

Also Vanity Fair released a first-look today!!

Amazing cast!!!

Posted (edited)

With a supporting cast that includes Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, and Don Cheadle.

Anthony Robles, the wrestler who the film is based on, is the stunt double for lead actor Jharrel Jerome. Very cool!
