How well do you fit stereotypes?

How well do you fit the stereotypes that have been largely associated with your specific demographic?

So with me being a black gay, here's my most-adjacent stereotypes:

Black:

Likes watermelon: Nope

Likes fried chicken: It's nice but I don't particularly fawn for this.

Likes grape soda: ✔️

Listens to rap: Yeah, but doesn't encompass most of my playlists

Gay:

Walks fast: No

Has "gay lisp": No

Wrist limp: No

Likes Madonna/Lady Gaga/Beyonce (aka most associated with gays MPG) : Yeah I like their music. Madonna moreso tho & Bey the least.

i'm 25 & gay & white & brazilian

i'd rather being single than in a relationship even with the fact that i've already had 2 kinda "long" ones, i think that's a gay stereotype? i like the level of freedom and possibilities that not even the most "free relationship" is able to give, just a single life.

i do walk (very) fast, i love pop music, have watched ru paul but just 1 season (i liked it)

i have never used "sex" apps tho. i just meet guys at bars or clubs, so it's not about being "entitled", i just don't have the patiance for it and i LOVE 'real life' flirting, kinda obsessed with face to face flirting, it's one of my favorite things.

stereotypes about being brazilian and white i have no ******* idea :deadbanana2:

maybe having no idea what are white stereotypes is a white sterotype unfortunately :coffee:

black

Likes watermelon: yes

Likes fried chicken: I love

Likes grape soda: ✔️

Listens to rap: Only Rap Us I don’t like RAP FR (maybe a few but I don’t listen mainstream French music I prefer pop, r&b and kpop)

as a black women I’m not thick, I’m tall and skinny.

until this year I didn’t even know I was always pissed but Im just tend to be too honest and people say I always side eyes :penguin: I can’t stop (i guess it’s a stereotype dunno)

as a muslim

I’m not homophobic or transphobia imo everyone should mind their business. I’m religious but I don’t wear a hijab also I don’t see myself getting married early or have children (I’m terrified actually)

Sis :toofunny2:, I was asked plenty of times growing up if I actually liked watermelon & grape soda :rip:.

Although, on further research, the watermelon stereotype definitely has its roots in blackface racist caricatures of early 20th century. I won't post any of the images on here, but a quick Google search will pretty much sum up my earlier point. :mazen:

whats a gay lisp?

What is sometimes colloquially described as a gay "lisp" is one manner of speech associated with gay speakers of North American English, and perhaps other dialects or languages. It involves a marked pronunciation of sibilant consonants (particularly /s/ and /z/).

Walks fast: Yep. Even my gay boyfriend says I walk too fast.
Has "gay lisp": Gay lisp? I don't have a lisp. My voice isn't super deep, but it's not the most high-pitched male voice out there.
Wrist limp: No
Likes Madonna/Lady Gaga/Beyonce (aka most associated with gays MPG) : Yes, although I like particular albums from these singers. For example, I only care for Chromatica and The Fame Monster from Gaga. And I've only liked Beyonce's albums starting with 4. For Madonna, after Confessions... I lost interest.

Well I’m actually pansexual, but a lot of people just assume I’m gay, so…

Walks fast: Yep but I have my entire life. My

mom literally has said people would ask me why I’m so fast when I was growing up. I can slow down quite significantly though, especially since my mom has spinal stenosis and she walks slow.

Has “gay lisp”: Nope but I just can’t outright pronounce some words, though I had to do speech therapy in elementary school. If the feminine voice is part of this, then yes.

Wrist limp: No.

Likes Madonna/Lady Gaga/Beyoncé (aka most associated with gays MPG): Yes but I also have a huge variety in taste of music from Aerosmith to Willie Nelson to B.B. King to Janet Jackson to Claude Debussy.

Watches Drag Race: No but people have encouraged me to get into drag culture more. I’m into it slightly.
