My friend started to buy Instagram followers and likes

And he always seemed like the most down to earth person. He always had, like, 90 followers, and now it's at almost 400 withing two days. His posts went from 2 to 3 likes to 60 likes. And he's constnaly doing the "New Post" thing.

This changes everything. I kinda lost respect for him :ace:

Why the hell are people doing this?

It's pathetic, but not surprising considering the importance we've put in social media. I wouldn't lose respect for a friend if they did that though, maybe pity them.

I mean, it's ridiculous for sure but why do you care?

What kind of friend genuinely judges off of something that insignificant?

if that's how he wants so spend his money buying fake validation online that's on him i guess

are u sure? If someone were to buy followers surely they’d buy more than 300 ? I don’t think sites even do that number (speaking as someone who had to buy followers for a company i work at once lol)

maybe he saw one of those viral tiktoks where it’s like ‘being an influencer for a month and seeing what happens’ and is trying it

I lost respect because he's gay and hates the gay community. According to him most gays are attention whores

I just don't like hypocrites.

I checked out of curiosity. It seems to be big business because there are so many sites where you can buy IG followers and likes. Some sites even start at 50 users or even less  :skull:

I mean, I would stop talking to him for how toxic he is, way before his hypocrisy happened.

Tell them that you think it's stupid. Friends can talk.

Me and another friend of mine are actually cackling over this :sistrens:

And he's not ever serving content either. It's always these "Believe in yourself" type of captions and meme's.

We're actually wondering if he's OK. We will try to talk about this the next time we see him. But how you want to approach this topic without trying to offend someone...

If you are close friends let him know Instagram is a dying platform and he needs to work extra hard to gain notoriety so might as well go for OF while it lasts
