i like this a lot, the production gives me classic carrie vibes. not expecting it to smash but it doesn't really matter.

So, this is the same song writing team that wrote Crazy Angels.

 

As well, last year there were rumours sparking that Carrie’s team was in talks to secure Mackenzie Porter’s ‘Pickup’ as a single.

 

Between this being thematically similar to ‘Ghost Story’ and what I said above, I bet this song didn’t make the final track list for D&R…

 

All I can say is.. her team screwed up. They shouldn’t have put ‘Ghost Story’ on the album at all, as this song is far superior lyrically and would’ve had a full album of Carrie co writes. Like, even when promoting ‘Ghost Story’ in radio interviews Carrie sounded miserable talking about this song and I’m starting to think it’s because she knew this was better.

I feel like she too makes some weird choices - she loves pink champagne but chose not to sing it in this current tour. 

 

Something must have happened with her management team for her to deliberately not sing this. Same goes for Velvet Heartbreak

Home girl needs to not be allowed to make her own decisions.  

 

Ghost Story wasn’t her choice. She said the label made her release it because it was the most “typical Carrie” sounding song.
