smartalek22 Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 is this just me who has noticed this?? I decided to make this thread after watching this random short Where Katy says 'blessing or a trap', the subtitles say 'track' and later on the subtitles say 'there's alot' instead of 'there a line' I swear the seen the same thing coming in people's FYPs when watching TikToks with them (I don't even have TikTok or watch it a lot though) and in other videos and I think it's very strange and something about it unnerves me... Am I the only one?? If you have any other videos like this please share cause I swear I'm not going crazy
BYoncé Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 It's definitely started happening more, part of it on the youtube side i have no doubt is because they restricted community sourcing subtitle tracks, so creators either have to make their own or people are forced to rely on the crappy autogenerated subtitles and translations.
Jude Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 I heard they do it in purpose so that viewers will be forced to comment correcting it.
Illuminati Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 (edited) I think Youtube has banned community subtitle contributions so the only way to add them now is by the Youtubers themselves. That's why the quality of them has declined. Edited March 8, 2023 by Illuminati
Power love Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Yes & it’s frustrating. Then & Now videos having poorly edited pictures as someone age for click bait that isn’t real.
Lara Croft Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 I thought I was the only one that found these cringy TikTok short form videos with auto-generated subtitles and corny AI dialogue unnerving in general.
