I like Ariana a lot but this whole thing sounds like a complete mess

isn't the first part of this show set in like a sort of high school?. And the actors are like 30-35 years old?

Hopefully! She has been reading books, educating herself and doing a strong amount of research, all while already being a huge fan of the OZ world (idk what else to call it, my Broadway knowledge is zero). 

 

I can't tell how acclaimed she is going to be, but I know she has and is still pouring all of her heart into Wicked. People are always so quick to judge sadly, not knowing that there is probably a reason (duh) that Jon picked Ariana for the role as Glinda.

I agree, I'm not that happy with the choice of doing two movies and I also believe they could've gotten a better director but oh well.

 

I'm in for any Ariana content and this will give us what we haven't gotten for ages: interactions, events, interviews and performances. Whatever happens we will benefit from it  

 

Also those who are saying she "abandoned" her career for "nothing", it really shows that you have no respect for celebrities, they're not some puppets, they have passions and interests that don't always overlap with those of their fanbase (although it's mostly non-fans complaining anyway). Ariana has been through hell and back and she should be allowed to pursue a passion project without being criticized for it.

Dumb comparison, 'Machete Kills/Sin City 2' were cameos of 1 minute for Gaga, not a leading role like Glinda on 'Wicked'.

Impossible to say at this state, musicals are often hit or miss, this movie and her performance can end up like 'Cats' or acclaimed like 'West side story' (although the director was more a garancy in that case), there also might be a middle way possibility and being her 'Burlesque', not acclaimed but not even panned.
