I'm so nervous about Ariana's appearance in Wicked as Glinda tbh. I mean she's not a bad actor but not great either. I'm afraid she will be attacked by critics and drag her performance. What do you think?

and have you guys ever watched wicked!? because arianators are acting like it’s gonna be some acclaimed oscar-baiting movie while wicked is literally so dumb — especially the first act, which i’m guessing will be the plot of the first movie.

Wtf? If anything we are expecting this movie to be a panned flop and most of us didn't want her to be part of this movie. We want her to continue being a popstar.

I will only be watching for her and have no current interest in seeing what wicked is actually like without her. it may very well be a bad movie but I think it will atleast make the budget back.

Gaga started with Machete Kills/Sin City 2, both in the 40s on MC.

So Don't Look Up/Wicked can be in the 40s together as well.

I want this to work out for Ari, so I hope the reception is at least positive, if it won't be acclaimed

hoping she does well though i am sure some will dislike it it no matter how good she is.

Tbh, I want the movie to flop hard so I can giggle at her abandoning her music career for nothing. 

Glinda in Wicked is a funny character mostly and I think she can pull that off. She might not be Kristen Chenoweth funny but I'm sure she will still be good. We all know she has the vocal chops so I am hoping acclaimed. Obviously Cynthia will be the star so it's her performance that will be more make or break for this. 

 

As others have said though, Wicked is a silly musical. I don't see this as like Oscar bait acclaimed but I don't think it will be bad or panned either.

I mean i don't know much about Wicked but i saw a few videos and Glinda kinda looks like a character in the same vein as Cat/Channel #2, so i think she will do fine 

This movie is lowkey giving me Cats vibes... and we all know how that movie turned out  I'll reserve my judgement for Ariana's acting skills as she's only played a few roles.

Unfortunately I fear she's gonna flop. Which sucks because I (and literally everyone else) have been waiting for a Wicked film forever and if it doesn't turn out PHENOMENAL after all these delays and whatever it's going to be such a letdown. Love Ari but she's an extremely weird choice for Glinda. Maybe they see something I can't, and I'm hopeful. But even the movie being split in to two parts seems like a detrimental choice to the story. Guess we'll see...

Even if the movie is panned I hope Ariana receives decent reviews for her acting. I actually want to see Ariana succeed as an actress. 

Acclaim, Broadway is her area.

I don't think Ariana can pull off Glinda but we'll see.

She has invested two, three years of her life devoted to this project. There is no question she will excel in this role and critics will see that.
