Artists that don't understand what the GP like about them?

Featured Replies

For example Katy think that people want camp Katy but the GP hates Katy's camp
Gaga keeps on making this songs with huge theater kid big voice but GP loved her when she didn't over do it in the TF era
Other examples?

Nowadays, Timberlake. The public wants him to be the suited-up, sleek performer from the FS/LS and 20/20 eras, while he wants be a corny dad/wannabe actor/whatever the hell MOTW was.

I’m sure they understand just fine, maybe they just don’t want to do the same thing over and over by pandering to the GP? It’s not like Katy or Gaga badly need the money

Shakira but somehow she keeps smashing despite people trashing her for being now a reggaetonera, sell out and ****

We know that. The thing is nobody is asking for it. And they are not underground artists they are pop girls that are not listening to the GP. And the outcome is not great either

Madonna has been confused for years

She, like the artists OP mentioned, knows what people love she just doesn’t give a f and does what she loves and is passionate about (and rightfully so).

I belive the opposite to be true.

The thing is a lot of these artists are still trying to cater to the GP. They are just failing
This is not a Ray of Light or Folklore or even Halsey's last album situation that really didn't care about the GP
In Witness and Smile, katy cared a lot about the GP. The she doesn't give a f arguement is invalid

No shade but if you truly think Folklore, which was BEGGING for Grammys and critic’s validation (something that has a lot of value to Taylor according to herself), and to some extend ROL was a “not caring about the GP” moment then…:rip:

Katy cared a lot about the GP during Witness but ever since that era she’s been doing whatever she feels like doing. I mean Smile basically is both a self therapy and maternal album that doesn’t chase any trends for the GP or tries to pander to the he critics. And PLAY got dragged online for being over the top camp but she recently said it’s her most fun show to do and she wants to do it for a long time.
