After the Beyhive speculated that the LGBT Chanteuse's new effort, TRUSTFALL - which initially outsold Beyoncé's amazing, global smash LP Renaissance in its first week by as much as a +20% difference (37 570 copies vs. 31 064 copies)- will drop like a rock from the UK charts, Official Charts Company's numbers are in: Pink sits pretty at the #2 spot with 13 510 copies. By comparison, Renaissance retained the pole position with 11 621 units - held almost entirely by its streaming numbers (thanks to massive TTH & UK Hot Hits promo), which accounted for 87.32% of its overall consumption!

 

So Legend P outsold Queen B by 16% in their respective second weeks.

 

Are you surprised that Freefall TRUSTFALL became such a massive album in the UK that its outselling one of the top albums in 2022 so far? How did this happen? Discuss and keep it cute, unlike the last time!

no, but since the hive's mess ultimately led to a closed hit thread last week, they couldn't "bump" it like they wanted to so I gave them the opportunity to say something after their prophecy backfired!

 

Nope, P!nk is a bigger act in the UK, she has sold over 8 million albums while Beyonce has barely cracked 5 million. Seems like Beyonce can't move pure sales there anymore, her numebrs are mostly free streams unlike P!nk's.

You can playlist all you want but the audience still has to have some interest in streaming the music.  

 

Pink made her choice. She's collecting a couple extra thousand in pure sales in Europe while traditionally promoting through interviews and controversy. 

It's not surprising at all, Pink is absolutely massive in many countries in Europe. That doesn't diminish the success of Renaissance, but it's silly to get defensive over that.

Yes! I, for one, was massively interested as it is my most streamed album last (and probably this) year. But streaming efforts are as much as promo as doing a performance on Graham Norton. (And, by the way, her promo was US-heavy.)

The way they just kept repeating it would drop like a rock  LEGEND doesn’t play, she will always put out decent numbers.
