Madonna has undeniably the most classics among Pop artists in history, only Michael has more and even that is debatable, so it's unfair to compare her amount to any other female Popstar

And this doesnt mean Gaga hasnt a good chunk of classics too, OGHs doing the most as usual, pathetic

Her 1990 GH sold over 30 million copies, her 1995 one sold over 10 million, her 2001 one sold over 7 million and her 2009 one sold 4 million.   to just blindly believe that in 2050 these Gaga songs you mentioned are gonna be as remembered (to youngsters) as they are now to the current generation is very naive and short termed.

because these GH compilations have the classics we are discussing on them and that’s how people mostly consumed artists’ hits pre streaming. Taking those into consideration would only be fair, hence why ChartMasters did too. but I guess Madge selling almost 60m albums in single compilations only is meaningless. Of course that generally songs that smashed circa 2009-2018 would have more streams (on a platform that took off globally in 2014 and is dominated by 30- demographic ) than smashes from 1983-1990

Huh? Doesn't make any sense  Lucky Star and Borderline were clearly included so all of the albums could be represented equally.

 

MJ, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, The Beatles etc all have 20m+ selling GH albums full od hits that werent classics, this narrative doesn't make any sense

Madonna has been around longer and has that advantage plus more #1 songs and top 10 songs .

That song literally came out a couple of years ago.

 

 

They both have extremely different career trajectories. Madonna is the answer, but her music was crafted to be pop hits. Gaga has chosen a more abstract career route. Regardless, Gaga has many classics still.
