who cares? SYT remix is still better 

I don’t know but it is a travesty because SYT is much better 

What were their positions on the charts? Maybe that's a better indicative. 

I think streams in general were down a lot during covid lockdowns, which was still going on at the SYT remix came out, no?

Call me when it reaches syt final streams

I think they're both even more established and even stronger artists (in terms of charting) now than they were back then.

Also Die for you is a slower hit so it’s more “fresh” while SYT OG was already big. 

I think streaming still growing. 

I mean DFR remix is Ariana’s biggest debut.

Yup considering SYT had a video, a (viral) live performance and a much bigger hit overall than Die For You - a 6 y/o song revived by TikTok. The GP clearly perched for Ariana

Paying Spotify users Q2 2021: 165 million

Paying Spotify users Q4 2022: 205 million

 

That's 25% growth. Assuming users overall grew too, this most definitely accounts too. People should really keep this in mind more when comparing songs, artists and albums 

 

Still a great accomplishment, tho, definitely if the remix is higher on the Spotify charts
