Congratulations to him. I don’t understand how J. Legend could have more streams than Licia, All of Me is just one song. Streaming really favours singles’ artists.

 

 I’m not sure The Weekend can really be classified as RnB anymore, I am not sure he would still like that.

It's unfair to pigeonhole him (or artists like Beyoncé, Mariah, and even Usher for that matter) on R&B when they have several undeniable pop moments to their names, but The Weeknd still honours the genre to this day, despite being more of a popstar now.

 

Ideally, this type of list should exclude streams of any non-R&B material from these artists, but that would be too complicated to make. Honestly, the notion of genre has become increasingly outdated and mostly used to put non-white artists on separate labels from their white counterparts. For instance, you could make a case for Justin Timberlake and Ariana Grande being considered R&B artists to some extent (especially Timberlake), but they're always put on pop by default.

60? she's often categoried with R&B in both music discussions and even on Spotify if you look at her recommended artists. her first two albums are the poppiest she's been too- the rest is pretty R&B in tune with the times

MTE. Weeknd is mostly pop with R&B influences. He shouldn't be placed in the same category as other artists who have more consistent R&B outputs. This is how The Weeknd is able to win over Brent Faiyaz and Lucky Daye in the R&B categories during awards season while putting out pop songs like Less Than Zero
