I don't understand this festival because they give this award to all artists, Does anyone know what the meaning of that is?

You win a silver award ("Gaviota de Plata") by acclamation if the public cheers enough, and you could win a golden award ("Gaviota de Oro") if the public continues cheering. Christina got both.

 

For artists with long careers, they get a third platinum award ("Gaviota de Platino"), which has been given out a handful of times, I believe. The public was acclaiming one for Christina tonight, but I guess the production wasn't expecting it because they didn't even ask her to come back to the stage (or she refused, we don't even know).

It was so awkward but she looked so proud anyway! That was a great show!

Enrique did win one and threw it at the audience cracking a fans head

The audience was demanding a platinum award, they were so mad that they didn't give it to her.

This, however I feel like the actual value of these awards has really been lost for a long time, now they usually give them to everybody (you have to give a specially bad/regular performance not to get any), before the Gaviota de Platino was a THING (Specially because they also gave two more awards before the gaviotas, which were the antorchas, but they were removed a coupld of years ago).

 

Btw this is no shade to Xtina she deserved the platino one tbh.
