It was announced and filmed LONG BEFORE Gunn came into the picture. DC and WB is simply all over the place, I mean it was already done may as well release it I guess, I doubt they are even spending a lot in publicity and promotion anyway so the money is already spent

Well the first one was actually one of the better DC movies so maybe this one is also entertaining who knows. I mean WB are said to be having problems economically so maybe they are hoping this one at least can bring some small amount of cash, doesn't look like it. They are apparently betting on The Flash to restart everything and get back up (which to me looked bad but who knows). They also have Aquaman 2 and it's being said that it tested awfully so

It's a bit sad cause honestly the first one is good (although I am still not super convinced on Zach's portrayal, like his personally is totally different from teen Billy).

 

But yeah Zach Levi gives off douche vibes so let him flop. It also seems a bit pointless since they are (soft) rebooting this universe. I don't think I will be supporting any of DC'S movies this year on theaters, maybe Blue Beetle cause we need that Latino representation.

I mean, who thought it was a good idea to have a sequel for Shazam, the first one did great but it wasn't really a smash (Budget was 80-100 mill and grossed 366 mill and was before covid)
