movie business is VERY predictable based on presales and even more predictable once opening weekend happens and 2nd weekend occurs.

 

hollywood has this to a science which is why they use cinemascore to this day to predict the final gross.

The first movie was a flop so the fact that there's a second is already surprising.

 

However, It has a long way to go before being the lowest DCEU opening (thanks, COVID?)

 

Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) - Opening weekend gross: $16 million

The Suicide Squad (2021) - Opening weekend gross: $26 million

Birds of Prey (2020) - Opening weekend gross: $33 million

Shazam! (2019) - Opening weekend gross: $53 million
