Chlöe x Halle aren’t on hiatus, though. They’re already back in the studio, working on the follow-up to their second Grammy-nominated album Ungodly Hour, which dropped in 2020 during Mermaid’s production hiatus. But right now, Halle’s more interested in hyping up Chlöe’s own solo projects. Her sister’s releasing her debut album, In Pieces, in March, while also climbing up Hollywood’s ranks: she’ll soon be starring alongside Olivia Colman, Woody Harrelson and Tosin Cole in an adaptation of the Tony-winning Bob Dylan musical Girl from the North Country.

“Watching my sister is really reaffirming for me. When you see somebody who has been next to you for so long spreading their wings, it’s like: ‘Wow!’ You’re just in awe,” she says, beaming. “That makes me feel like we’re both moving in the right direction. Her accomplishments make me feel really good about myself, too.”

Their new album will come out before the Little Mermaid trailer does at this point :coffee2:

So they DON'T get solo albums

good. leave the solo stuff in the gutter

I'd be interested to see what Halle does solo... She always intrigued me the most

I'm sad that narratives on either jealousy, outside drama, or outside politics have overshadowed their solo projects, imho. It's just felt like one thing after another. I wish them well getting back together, it'll be interesting to see what direction they decide to take.

maybe the fact that shes not rushing it and taking her time is a good sign. plus she's getting the disney money and making history with the upcoming movie. shes in her bag while the other sis...

Same. I’m actually surprised they started working on their third album. Halle said last year on Instagram Live that she hoped to release some of her own solo music at the end of 2022 / early 2023. I hope Halle’s solo project comes out before their third album.

True. Chloe is too young to be soloist. They should’ve promoted as a  group when they’re rising.  They could’ve been bigger imo.

In this article you posted she mentions working on her solo album. It’ll be out after the Little Mermaid

What gorgeous words from Halle. No envy or bitterness, just pride for her sister
