No lineup will beat the O.G. line up; Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell & Randy Jackson just had this magical chemistry.

The only line, from my POV, that could measure up was Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez & Keith Urban.

The current line up is cute, but I have not watched Idol to truly see their genuine chemistry.

Honestly they all had their flaws. Simon will always be good but he's also stubborn/close minded and sometimes just refused to comment the truth when he had his mind made up. As a group the original 3 had great chemistry, as did JLO/Steven/Randy, and now Katy/Lionel/Luke. As an individual I voted Katy - a good balance of silly, entertaining, experience in the industry, and constructive criticism. The worst was probably one of Ellen/Kara/Harry.

Honestly Katy has this caring mom vibes and also really fun. I love her on the show. Simon+Paula of course as well.
