Shakira's album DELL is more streamed than Britney's and Xtina's debuts, why?

Featured Replies

Despite being a nobody in the United States and not really global (according to ATRL), Shakira's 1998 Spanish-language album ¿Dónde están los ladrones? has more overall streams and has been receiving more daily streams than US-based legends and global icons Britney Spears' and Christina Aguilera's debut albums. Why?

DELL is a climax in music. Shakira really did a thing with that.

She needs to release more English music though.

DELL is one of the best albums of all time! You know talent and artistry sometimes wins and that’s what happened with early Shakira :clap3:

the performance of her 90s albums is so underrated, none of the girls can compete

Pies Descalzos has more streams than Xtina's debut too but I wanted to keep it cute

A lot of labels banked on strong singles to convince the public to go out and BUY the album in the 90s - with little thought being put into the album tracks.

This led to not much thought being put into the album tracks, and a lot of buyers remorse.

Britney and Christina’s debut eras were iconic because of their singles, striking music videos & button pushing promotional campaigns. Both albums had a lot of filler, which was pretty standard for the label mandated bubblegum pop of the era.

Shakira’s album is a body of work that actually resonated with people. You can tell a lot of thought was put into the LP.

Besides, Shakira is by far the biggest streaming force out of the three.

It's Shakira's best album and the best Latin pop album ever only Piez Descalzos comes as a close second.

Shakira is currently more successful and has released significantly more in the streaming era. She is also backed by a stronger label.

Since 2012:

- Britney has released 8 singles and 2 albums.

- Christina has released 15 singles and 3 albums.

- Shakira has released 22 singles and 2 albums.

I wouldn't call her a nobody in the states. That was her second hit album. Every Latin person in the US knew who she was after PD. Her manager at the time was Emilio Estefan. She was pushed globally with him at that time.

Thank you to the iconic Gloria and Emilio for pushing this amazing artist. She deserved it.

The nosedive decline in quality of Shakira's music :rip:

How was she doing better music in her teenage years than she does now?

If she releases them in the quality of Dónde Están los Ladrones?, then yes. Otherwise, keep it.

Is not only cause is a spanish album. This is the best spanish pop album by a latino female artist.
The Latino Ray Of Light.
The musicality. The poetic lyrics and the amazing delivery rhyming. The magic.
La manera en que Shaki hacia que frases simples y todo en la cancion funcionara armoniosamente
Su voz tambien en esos tiempos tenia un tono muy especial.
All of the songs are classics in Latinoamerica. The nostalgic feelings.
Yll be able to understand it if youre a native spanish speaker
Even the rockfans metalheads here talk of how "Dell" is a Classic
This album has cultural impact
The MTV unplugged maximized this album so much, So thats probably the Best project of her career

Rosalia is a groundbreakin artist and her albums are incredible but even if El Mal Querer X Motomomami are masterpieces visually-conceptually-mujsically the lyrics are very subpar-mid compared to Dell, i dont get why Americans publications are always pushin that album as the best spanish album when this one is the Top One . :gaycat4: Same situation with Bad Bunny and his  last 3 great records.
