It's only rival imo is Whitney's Bodyguard album. Shania's album was selling singles from '97 to 2000 no MPG ever had that big of an era in pop music

I don't know, it didn't really pull explosive numbers in Latin America or Asia. Almost 85% of its sales came from 5 English speaking countries. It was definitely a monster but the biggest ever seems like a stretch. It definitely was a long era but only the 4 big singles from 1998/1999 felt particularly huge.

she'd never have to record new music again. 

I have no memory of it but it’s gay folklore at this point that it was so large and went on for so long that it was ridiculous by the end of it. So yes.

yea. she wins in pure numbers but Madonna and Mariah deserve credit for Asia and Latin America 

 

edit: also, those singles are not doing that well with recurrent stats which is a shame

I think this was the biggest MPG era.  This had like 12 singles and some of the most iconic music videos of the 90s.  It’s also the only MPG album to be 2x Diamond.  

I guess since it's the best selling album by a female artist

No it's 21 duh. Shania has only sold ~3mil more pure while 21 stomps in streaming.

 

Chartmasters has Shania at 44M CSPC and 21 at 50M

most definitely, which album had that many singles and all SMASHING? ppl saying taylor and adele  21 had 3 singles and was over, 1989 had 4.
