Doja Cat is bigger than Dr. Luke. if Doja Cat publicly called out her “contract with Luke that prevents her from denouncing him or he will block her music from being released and ruin her career” (that’s how y’all like to think it is anyway) , the public backlash she would raise against Kemosabe/Sony would be untenable for Sony to ignore and there would be a way for Doja to be free of him. Kesha, unfortunately, never had the level of support that Doja does to create a real , social media driven movement. Bffr Doja is one of the biggest stars on the planet right now, she can move mountains and sway legions of fans with her power.

Doja is not bigger than Luke, at all  Kesha had more hits than her when she sued him and her career suffered hugely from that.

Kesha has been unsuccessfully trying to get out of her contract for 18 years (including through court intervention), there is zero reason to believe Doja Cat could achieve within the blink of an eye what Kesha couldn’t in 18 years, especially because he can literally use all the terrible judicial Kesha precedent against Doja Cat.

He can still sue her into oblivion if she opens her mouth, considering he has 10 times as more money + best team to represent him, he will drain her of money with legal fees while she will be unable to release new music.

 

And Sony will take his side, considering his imprint continue to make them more money than some of the artists for more than a decade.

 

If Sony wanted to drop him and release his artists from contract with him they would've done it already. But they don’t want (and probably even can’t, who knows what kind of contract they have. Maybe they can drop him but his artists will be still signed to  Kemosabe, which would make them even more powerless).

I’m not sure what people want from Doja or Kim. Speaking out against him is defamation unless they can prove anything, refusing to work with him is breach of contract and you can’t just cancel a contract with someone because you heard they did bad things, you can’t even get out of a contract with someone if they mistreated YOU as we can see in Kesha’s instance. It’s a lose lose for everyone involved and it’s none of the girls fault.

Exactly. The OKHs who've been hellbent on dragging Kim just look dumb atp bc she's now a Grammy winner, has a #1 global hit that's still smashing, and major industry artists have endorsed her. Catch up with the world, y'all! Focus your energy on the man you don't like, not the female artists associated with him.

Regardless, plenty of artists still work with him. But people go very in on Kim, almost as if there’s some weird satisfaction from ATRL in bashing a trans woman. For all we know, she might be under a contract (much like Kesha was) to work with him for x amount of projects.
