It’s just been announced that Latin Grammys 2023 gala will take place in Sevilla, Spain. Thoughts?

The US is not a latin country and the latin grammys have been held there for two decades. 

 

What’s awkward on hosting the award show that celebrates spanish music in the country that originated the spanish language?

The Latin Grammys are headquartered in the US so hosting them there isn’t that surprising. 

 

The entire organization is a mess though tbh. “Latin” Grammys when it really just awards music in Spanish. There’s a few Portuguese categories but it completely ignores Haiti. Moving the show to Spain is just as tragic.

They should be called the Hispanic Grammys since they are supposed the award all artists that sing in Spanish.

 

Latin Grammys is exclusive to the area of Latin America far away from Spain.

Most Hispanics are not offended by this. It's usually Non-Latinos that always act offended on our behalf to make themselves look woke. 

The organization making a point about how Latin Grammys have been always about languages and not just for artist from Latin America

Yeah, that is who I was referring to. Most of them being from the US.
