I recently re-visited one of my favourite and tbh one of the best experimental artists of all time;

 

 

Yeah she does have an attitude and prolly one of the most problematic stars out there but the way she manages to sound different on every track yet still keeps a unique sound is just shocking tbh. Who’s your favourite experimental artists?

This album is sooo good and incredibly underrated. Silent Shout is a masterpiece, but they really took their sound and gender studies to a whole other level with Shaking the Habitual. I hope they return as a duo. I like Fever Ray, i’ll check the new album, but everything past the debut doesn’t strike me as the knife used to

There are more “out there” artists that I love, but because ATRL always enjoy a bit of a melodic flavor to its ice cream i will say Julia Holter. Range, talent, immaculate production, songwriting chops and arrangements. Each project is fleshed out and its own sonic world. There’s nothing like Aviary
