I'm talking about singles. I definitely do. Just dance, pokerface, lovegame & paparazzi were just more fun and catchy and so 08'-09'. I think once Bad Romance came around i lost interest in Gaga. The fame just had more general appeal which is why I probably liked it more. I feel once Bad Romance came around she started taking herself too seriously and lost her touch, and yes I know the song was successful but to me it wasn't as fun as the fame singles. 

both albums were very different from each other. 

 

and TFM was way better. 

The Fame was Gaga hustling to make it into the music industry and get a launch pad for her artistic ideas. The Fame Monster was the result of that

Yes. The Fame Monster was darker and more ambitious not just in terms of aesthetic, but sonically too.

They're completely different, like polar opposites 

The fane was basically just a bunch of demos and gaga just having fun , the fame monster was her first like really serious project and well done and it was darker than the fame

The Fame Monster was Gaga’s artistic peak. It was just great pop music with a touch of struggled art student’s vision she had left from THE FAME. She let the ego and fame consumed her and as a result, you got ARTPOP!

Yes production wise and theme Monster is much more polished and GAGA

 

A lot of The Fame songs could have been gwen stefanis and singers of that time includding Just dance, boys boys boy and etc

 

but no one else could sang/write bad romance

exactly. TFM was her coming into her own.

The Fame Monster feels slightly more sonically progressive, and more indebted to swedish pop music than The Fame, which feels more all-american and unashamed in its vintage aesthetic. so it's safe to say that The Fame is a bit more "safe" whereas The Fame Monster is more provocative and forward-thinking

Yes there was. Monster is the bigger, more ambitious version of the og so pairing them together still made sense eventhough the sound & aesthetic had distinct differences. I wonder if Monster would even be a thing at all had Fame not been as big bc what separates the 2 is basically the budget. Like, she went from the cheapest video ever (Poker Face) to Bad Romance in what, a year and some change?

I feel like the Born this way era was when she really was doing too much & took herself too seriously that it wasn’t enjoyable

Poker Face video is not cheap. That would be the disastrous mess that is Million Reasons.

yea she took herself more seriously but it still worked. songs like alejandro, they are stories that people can identify with... 

she lost it in btw tho, she got over her head

TFM is a lot more highbrow than TF which was unshamed fun pop music taking on the hyper-obsession of fame/ celebrity at that time

Not really. They are both similar in that they each have only a handful of listenable songs but the good songs from The Fame Monster could easily have been on The Fame ( So happy i could die, Monster and Bad Romance) The rest is not good. 

Tbh, yup. And we love it. 

Yes, she even designed them as the yin yang of each other

TFM was the last time and only time , she cared about making a good album as a whole.

the fame has nothing to offer outside of the singles. monster is her only project that's consistently great from start to finish.

The Fame has some great non-singles as well. Disco Heaven, Summer Boy, and the title track are all bops
