that being said, her SB performance isn’t going to be talked about for years to come, and that’s ok. Not every SB performance needs to be iconic to be considered a success.

Why do y’all make these threads asking questions with full proof to back it up? The answer is yes. You knew that. Just make a thread saying “Rihanna’s performance was a success in many ways” 

I went back and watched all the MPG SBHT shows from the past 10ish years. Rihanna's was still the worst, sorry not sorry. Beyonce had more energy, stage presence and charisma in a split second of her performance than Rih did in her entire performance. Standards have considerably fallen since COVID, I fear. 

she's a GP darling and had tons of hype for this comeback. still a mediocre performance

Ok Rihanna fans, Rihanna did perform and sing really well compared to the other pop girls if that's whag you want to hear

Doesn’t change the fact it was lazy, bland and lacked energy. 
 

Congratulations for all the numbers she’s doing tho, it’s impressive and can’t really be disputed. 

It wasn't good

The show was bad so that's the end of it. Not the highest viewed and Gaga had 2 albums top 10, not just one. The panning of the performance is the biggest loss though.

Her numbers (and anyone else’s) were bound to see a big boost. Like duh. But that doesn’t change the fact that I personally viewed her performance as the worst female ever. It doesn’t matter if the New York Times disagrees, or some random celeb. I saw with my own eyes how horrible it was.  So she may be seeing success in numbers, but she just lost all performance integrity with that horrific, badly lipped performance. 

I truly hope she gives us a behind the scenes of the leading up to the SB

 

I would love to see how the staging, setlist, and production came together all so beautifully

A packed jam with fashion appeal. Chill attitude and her charisma was enough for the GP. I loved from the first time I watched. 

Omg I thought I was the only one who interpreted it that way. She wasn't being lazy, she was just her chill self having fun with her hits. I can't believe most members in here can't appreciate that and only approve of flashy performances. Rihanna has never been about that.

Quality can be argued, but the pregnancy announcement alone is going to be referenced fpr years to come since it's the 1st time that happened on that stage.

Thankfully the GP have proved more intelligent than this website  ATRL has been clowned by the reception of critics and public opinion.
