Why does P!nk still have a decent reputation despite being a bully in the 2000's?

Featured Replies

P!nk would use blow up dolls of Christina, mock her in performances, etc. just because industry people favored Christina. Christina had nothing but nice things to say just days before the video shoot, but we’re supposed to believe Christina had the problem. She said she loved all the ladies. P!nk is the type of person that creates a fake problem with someone because they are envious of them. I have dealt with people just like P!nk at work who get mad because you’re favored over them. Be mad at management not the person that is favored.

i borrowed it from a quote from an article I saw on Lipstick alley.

I did hate how she did the Single Ladies dance for a Stupid Girls performance. That was mean…

Link?

Pink has always been a standoffish, angry girl from the jump.

Stans hyperfixating on Xtina for (also) being bitchy - but having grown up now - has always made me laugh. Pink and Avril, to a lesser extent, debuted on the scene HATING other girls in the "hehe I'm not like other girls" way.

One would hope all the acrobatics and jumping around Pink does would have served as a nice outlet for her anger, but alas.

Do you think anyone actually cares? P!nk's whole brand is about being 'obnoxious' an 'unapologetic', not about being everyone's friend and such a cute fake nice being to anybody :giraffe:

If she doesn't like something, she's not gonna hide it, doesn't matter if it's gonna raise eyebrows here and there, and the appeal she's gained throughout the years comes mostly from that attitude

But P!nk does a song about Anti Bullying?

Hmm

compared to X, maybe because she didn't last as long so that the GP could see a difference

since both have changed to be nicer

but it IS interesting to see how different it is..

the Cultural Appropriation thing: Xtina's Stripped to P!nk's Debut:

where one had "Blackstina" tweets going viral, while the later had "the Original BlackP!nk"

then there is the Mean moments..where I do feel that Xtina had more attention than P!nk's songs about "stupid girls"

altho, were they really big viral moments? dont remember

like..JLo is getting much more flack for her Ashanti and not-singing drama on social media

(altho..she used to be the biggest star out of em, guess she still is more talked about despite being not as successful)

P!nk came up at a time where girls were shamed for being sexual, ditzy, etc., so her “power feminism” vibe was seen as strong/empowering rather than a form of internalized misogyny.

Beyond that, our relationship with celebrity beef and drama is drastically different now than it was in the early 2000s or even the early 2010s.

That explains the sex shaming in Gilmore Girls

Which song is that? Elaborate.

Also, y'all go as far as saying 'bullying' for some obvious gimmicks and PR stunts. When P!nk did the Xtina doll thing, she was at the lowest in her career, she was flopping left and right, so she basically pulled the 'well, I'm an underdog now, lemme do whatever I want' card, and did that only to generate buzz. Doing the 'Single Ladies' dance was just a dumb parody/joke, but going as far as calling it 'bullying' is just being a snowflake who can't take a subtle joke (and I say that as someone who highly respects Bey as an artist)

P!nk's Perfect song on her Greatest Hits album

What?

LOL

I don't think her reputation is all that great. It's more of that fact that people don't care what she does. It never makes waves.

They just wanna see her acrobatics thing

The song she dedicated to her daughter after reminding the mistakes she did and the ups and downs she had in her early life? What's wrong with that?

She didn't. I meant that years after that performance with the blow up doll she would end up doing this song:

It's very hypocritical
