Not to take away Nicki's impact in female rap, but Rihanna's fingerprints are all over the current music scene. It's not even close.

Nicki for all and I say this as a Navy. Onika is classically trained in theater, is literally the reason the female rap crossed  over to the pop sphere and showed that it could reach pop star levels of success.  Hence why major labels were more inclined to sign on more and more female rappers.

 

She will definitely give us an album before Riri. 

Unfortunately, Nicki has had more impact on current music. 

 

Rihanna is more talented. Rap is a skill but its her only skill. When she's invested, Rihanna can dance and she has a unique voice. 

The one that didn't marry a sex offender, intimidate a violence victim, and overall support rape.

I am not a fan of Nicki Minaj but she is a more talented rapper than Rihanna is as a singer. Impact is also subjective as Nicki made a huge impact in female rap that would be discuss in years to come. NM5 will come out before R9

It's not a set up, just admit you're triggered because you don't like Nicki. 

Nicki lifted a whole genre out of irrelevancy with her pen, meanwhile Rihanna was handed hits her whole career 

 

Every mainstream female rapper since Nicki is either molded in her image or follows her pop rap footsteps which she took to heights never seen before her. She made made female rap extremely profitable . Rihanna didn't shift the culture like that

 

Cardi and Doja are among the biggest hitmakers of last 5 years clearly influenced by Nicki, you look at them and you think of Nicki right away

 

Which stars did Rihanna influence that are bigger than Cardi or Doja? I'll wait

 

And how many huge black pop stars have we had since Rihanna? All the black girls that blow up are almost always a female rapper

 

All the influencers from Kim Kardashian to Cardi and even regular girls started to get butt implants and BBLs because of  Nicki's impact, she was the first big celebrity to enhance her butt . Rihanna's biggest impact was her red hair from loud until  fenty beauty, so I'll give her that. but musically Nicki wins

 

Nicki can sing and rap and write and is considered the greatest in her field, Rih can only "sing" and even that one talent is up for debate. She's not considered the greatest at anything except having an great ear for hits
