Roman Holiday Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 The Joker 2 is not connected to the DCEU proper, so I think she has a chance, but do you see Joker 2 being a huge success like the first?
Big Bad Wolf Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 It will probably be less acclaimed than the first one but will still draw good box office numbers.
zoldyck Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 Is there even a curse outside DCEU? Chris Nolan Batman trilogy was huge success, so Robert Pattinson's batman and prequel of Joker. Seemed to me DCEU curse rather than DC curse
Gossip_Boy Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 The fact it’s a musical might scare some people off so I think it’ll gross less than the first but will still pull good numbers nonetheless. The first one grossed a billion after all. It not being connected to the mess that is the DCEU also helps.
elevate Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 I don't know what you mean but I know she'll be fine even if this movie flops. It's a nice bonus for her if it does well and she's already established herself as an all-around entertainer.
orange22 Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 I don’t think DC is cursed but this will likely flop

Desire Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 This isn't part of the DCEU so the curse does not exist but anyway Gaga has proven to bring in box office numbers
Gorjesspazze9 Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Joker & The Batman aren’t connected to the DCEU. So it should be fine. First film was a hit and a pop culture relevant movie. Don’t know if they can replicate that. But I’m sure the film itself will be well written and acted
BNF91 Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 I can't take anyone seriously who thinks this will flop. Yes it won't outgross the first one. But this won't flop in the slightest. Bookmark. $700M+ minimum.
Baby Judas Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 You opened this thread couple of hours before the Harley tease. Do you know something, Roman?
publikcitizen Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 it's too early to say. we have to wait until the trailer is released to get a initial first impression.
Mr. Duff Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 I feel like people will underestimate it like the second Avatar then blow everyone out of the water with its success. I loved Joker so really looking forward to this one.
Johnny Jacobs Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Well.. I think it'll do like 300-400mil and it's not bad for a low budget film like this. Critically maybe 60-70 like the first one. Im excited tbh i just hope it wont be too musical (or at all would be best)

Black Panther, Joker, Captain Marvel and Aquaman were massive MASSIVE, their respective sequels will be sucessful but won't replicate the success of the first movies. It's not realistic.gif Edited February 15, 2023 by Broken
Lady Claire Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 The film will be a boxoffice smash and will receive rave reviews.

GraceRandolph Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 It's the DCEU movies that are "cursed" though, not the DC Elseworlds films like Joker and The Batman.

The film that has one of the best multipliers of all-time from opening weekend for a "superhero" film, a billion dollar grosser after opening at under $100M opening wknd Domestic, all with being "R" /18+ rated lmao... you simply have no clue lololol

If anything the first film is about the consequences of withdrawing free health care from vulnerable people, what's MAGA about that?

Weld_E Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Not Liddos already trying to build this false narrative that Gaga is somehow going to ‘save’ the DCEU when this movie inevitably becomes a hit because of Joaquin and the success of the first movie
