EMPIRE: Where next for Pandora?

Expect Quaritch’s employers, the RDA, led by Edie Falco’s General Ardmore, to continue making Pandora a new home for humanity — “Way Of Water was Quaritch’s vendetta but Ardmore’s or the RDA’s goals have not changed” — and Brendan Cowell’s already iconic oceanic hunter Mick Scoresby will return, despite losing an arm, to bark orders at minions. Happily, the heart-stealing tulkun Payakan will remain a fixture. “We view Payakan as a character, not just as a creature,” says Landau. “We will continue to explore his relationship with Lo’ak.”

But just as Cameron and Landau are bringing characters, creatures and tech from film to film, they are also introducing new locales and clans. In Part 3, we will meet the Ash People, an aggressive, volcanic race of people led by Varang, played by Game Of Thrones’ Oona Chaplin. Part 3 flips the script, presenting the Na’vi for the first time as antagonists, with the ‘sky people’ couched in a more positive light.

After a big time-jump in Avatar 4, the final film will come to Earth. The series’ only previous glimpse of our planet has been in deleted scenes from the first film, presenting it as a stark dystopia. “There’s over-population, and a depletion of our natural resources that make life harder,” confirms Landau. “But we don’t want to paint a bleak picture for where our world is going. The films are also about the idea that we can change course.”

VARIETY: ‘Avatar 3’ Is Told Through the Eyes of Lo’ak, Says James Cameron: ‘We Have a Different Narrator for Each’ of the Next Three Sequels

James Cameron let it slip that his “Avatar” franchise will feature a different narrator for each of the remaining three sequels. Jake Sully, played by Sam Worthington, was the narrator in “Avatar” and “Avatar: The Way of Water.” For the upcoming and still-untitled “Avatar 3,” which is now post-production, Jake’s son Lo’ak will take over as narrator. Jake was our voiceover narrator for movie one and for movie two, and we have a different narrator for each of the subsequent films. We see it through the eyes of a different character. Movie three is through Lo’ak’s eyes.”

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Michelle Yeoh flying high in Avatar sequels and more action-packed sci-fi roles

Yeoh plays a scientist named Dr. Karina Mogue in director James Cameron's sequels to his 2009 blockbuster, the first of which is released December 16. "So, yes, I am in the Avatar sequels and as you know we can't really talk very much about it," says the actress. "But it's James Cameron! Come on! I would be the tea lady for James Cameron! We shot for a few weeks, and I was so impressed with the work that he's done, the work that he's doing, the energy. He's a genius, he's a walking genius. And I really really enjoyed the experience and I can't wait to go back soon, I hope."

It was a title in consideration but it seems that they changed them eventually. Only The Way of Water will match up with the leak.

"And while a few years ago several titles for the Avatar sequels reportedly leaked, which included the accurate title “The Way of Water,” Landau says not to expect Avatar 5, or any of the rest, to line up. “We have decided on titles, but I would not go by those other three titles that were out there,” he said. “You know, if you roll the dice one in six times, you’ll pick the right number.”"

I actually think most people who missed out on avatar 2 will probably go watch 3 because of seeing the success 2 had,so it might become even bigger :dies:

4 is apparently supposed to be jaw dropping, and 5 sounds super cool with the return to Earth concept. Though I'm not a die hard fan of this series, I still really enjoy the movies and I plan to see each one in 3D IMAX on release day.

In a recent interview Jon Landau had with ABC you can see a previs scene from the next film in the background, in the scene you can faintly make out what the Ash Tribe will look like as some of them appear in the scene.

It is at 09:07 in this video: 'Avatar: The Way of Water' producer Jon Landau on changing the world through storytelling and film

Here is a screenshot and a fans interpretation of their look based of what we know:
