rta1913 Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Not surprised. Season 2 made ZEROOOO noise. I watched the first and found it enjoyable but nothing groundbreaking. I started season 2 and couldn't even finish episode 1, so I probably won't finish it. On top of that, I think it was an expensive show and WBD/HBOmax are broke now so
stjosephprey4us Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 The show obviously wasn’t anything amazing, but I’m so tired of HBO Max canceling everything. It’s healthy to have shows of different success levels on a platform. Not everything is going to be wildly successful! I was looking forward to hate watching this and Degrassi and now both are cancelled
livelikemusic Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Not surprised. It looked like sh*t, much like the original.
Josh Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Why even reboot it? no one was itching for a revival series lmao that finale of who Gossip Girl was killed all of it's relevance
Hector Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 It was a hot mess, but a fun hot mess. Not surprised at all.
Venice B Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Thank god, that **** was awful I kept forcing myself to watch that because I love the OG but after that last episode with Georgina I was like nop bye!
pxxxtrick Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I watched season 1 and haven’t tuned in for 2, but this does shock me. They’ve been trying so hard to push it. Now give Thomas Doherty something better!
Trent W Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Season 2 was actually a bit better but no one is talking about it. No one even cared. I loved to have the show as a background but it was ridiculous to even compare it with the original.
Narima Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I stopped watching after 5 episodes. It was just bad
truthteller Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 they should have killed it from the beginning
imabadkid Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 wasn’t the creator/producer just on social media begging people and telling them how important it is to watch this season. I figured they were on the verge of cancellation. yes, the early and mid 2000s was an iconic time but I’m gonna need more originality for Hollywood. It’s going tired.
blackoutbritney Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I’ve been watching and it’s deserved it truly is so bad
Gossip_Boy Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 This show took itself way too seriously and that was its downfall. Like where is the fun, where is the CAMP? Bad writing, relying on the OG show then expecting the people to like it when it’s just ass. Yet never putting effort into the show itself. Good riddance.
#Beautiful Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 shouldve never been made. terrible concept. horrible reboot
UnusualBoy Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 It shouldn't have happened in the first place.

This! It’s very filtered down and much more woke in the sense that they’re trying to humanize these richer out of touch characters when the fun of the og is that it was campy escapism and they were all bad people

Prep school aspiration worked during the first recession when the original Gossip Girl came out and the entire cast had true star power, regardless of the narratives falling apart by the end of that show. This was beating a dead horse in a very different time for the culture where there's a big backlash with Gen Z and Alpha to that, or they're just tired of it. The only one that grabbed me was Evan Mock. What worked with a lot of the original storyline is now made almost irrelevant with social media.
Heartbreak Prince Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I didn’t even know season 2 was out?
