sourtwink Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 (edited) a michael biopic is impossible for a multitude of reasons; namely michael’s drastic physical transformation that one actor couldn’t pull off without being problematic, and his numerous… uh… controversies… which will most definitely be conveniently left out at the request of his estate, which will offend many. this is a very bad idea. If you make something about the first years shouldn't be a big problem. Madonna biopic is talked for being just about her 80s years and Rocketman was also focused on elton first years. Zoe_ Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 The Jackson's Story miniseries is ICONIC. No need.
Dr. Alexander Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 When will film studios recognize that these artists' stories needs to be TV series with multiple seasons? You can't fit their entire life and career within a 2-hour film.
X~MoviePoP Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 (edited) 1. Michael is a legend so this movie would be huge 2. They better have amazing casting for michael 3. Clearly already a front runner for best hair and makeup if they can turn a black actor white with it and cgi. And 4. They def need to show his hard child hood and all that. I love michael so the only way to do this is to e choose a portion of his life or show him old looking back on his life Edited January 19, 2023 by X~MoviePoP
GraceRandolph Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 What a huge mistake. You just know the estate is going to sugar coat everything and make it corny as hell. Plus it’s obvious he was guilty. 1

Bloodflowers. Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Who's gonna play Janet in the movie? I guess the film might end at Superbowl 1991 before controversies started kicking in

Lost In Paradise Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 seems like Hollywood thinks the new winning strategy is to create content that will enrage at least half of their audience, instead of going for universal acclaim. it's not a terrible 2023 strategy. Universal acclaim is often seen as boring or payola. you'll get way more online discussion and virality from being messy and controversial, even if you don't really add anything to the conversation (the validity of Michael's legacy in this case)
Mr.Link Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 While I do believe he was innocent I am not interested in watching a watered down version of his story. He had mental issues and did many questionable things as a consequence of his tragic upbringing and celebrity status and that’s precisely what I would be interested to watch.

Gesamtkunstwerk Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 No matter the narrative they are going to go with (probs that he was not guilty) people are going to be mad as **** - One group is going to be mad if they gloss over/excuse the allegations like it's nothing - Other group is going to mad if they even hit that he could be mentally ill and/or a child molester Can't wait for the drama lol
ATRL Moderator feelslikeadream Posted March 10, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted March 10, 2023 A waste of time. We have Leaving Neverland and don't need anything else.
