Is The White Lotus the best TV show ever?

I know there’s only been two seasons, but The White Lotus is already the most acclaimed TV show since Breaking Bad (which is widely regarded as the best of all time). I personally think it’s surpassed it quality wise. I’ve never watched something so well written and produced and so entertaining as The White Lotus. Season 2 especially was perfection. Does anyone else agree?

But The White Lotus - s2 in particular - is for SURE up there, and easily the best show of 2022.

The first season was cute however it also wasn't that well realised, the entire race discusssion was so surface level and it was just was handled so sloppy

it was extremelly heavy handed and lacked nuance

 

Some characters were well written but others lacked depth and motivation

 

I love Jennifer but her character (esp in season 2)  was not needed at all and the plot was just not that good/realistic, it was funny and enjoyable esp the boat scene but it lacked any sort of actual drama, it was just there to add some comedy to contrast the rest of the tense  moments in the season

 

the second season overall was really good with some good characters and acting but also the themes of adultery, relationship, social/economic status, tradional gender roles vs feminism just was not that well developed, all of it was just there but never scratched under the surface

 

the series just suffers from the fact that plot and themes always take a backseat over the characters which you know is fine and makes for a good show and enjoyable drama but in order to be the best show of all time it has to have all of this under control and the reason it doesn't is that it has too many characters and plots dumped in couple of episodes only and even the characters themselves are not all 100% realistic/well written (I mean just look at the lesbian hotel manager - her arc felt so rushed that it would have been better  if it wasn't there at all)

I know little to nothing about it but those gays memes after the finale were one of the the lowest points in comedy Twitter has ever had and the bits and pieces of the show I stumbled upon gave me a Big Little Lies vibe with the quirky styled satire of rich white people and that show was also wildly overrated. But to be fair my impressions might be completely off

I just started watching (on S2 now) and I wouldn't say it's objectively one of the best, but it is one of the most interesting I've seen in a while. I usually have a short attention span (can barely even finish one episode) and even with their length I'll watch several in a row.
