How sad...) Don't Worry Darling (an only slightly up-dated rip-off of both versions of Stepford Wives...) Firestarted (an underwhelming remake based on one of Stephen King's less "whelming" novels...) Halloween Ends (unlike this 17th return to the source material, the original 1978 Halloween was a grreat horror film. Let's hope they keep their promise, and this will indeed be The Berry Last Halloween movie! Jurassic World: Dominion (how did this 6th Dino-Movie make shitloads of money, even though the movie-going public & critics alike didn't actually like it?) Marmaduke (one of the oddest-looking, most unpleasant-to-watch "Family Movies" in a year crowded with such dreck.) The Requin (An 47 years too late rip-off of Jaws, with quite possibly the worst CGI work of any of the 237 Jaws rip-offs (and that's saying a lot)!
schnetzka Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 I must be behind times because the only film I have seen listed in any of that is Don't Worry Darling.
Rev8 Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Harry isn't nominated? But I thought he was a poor actor

DammnBaby Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Worst Screen Couple: Andrew Dominik & His Issues with Women - Blonde The accuracy.
duybeeGAshantiGA Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Surprised to not see Harry Styles. Maybe his chance was so high his team had to send checks to the committee !
D_Man3379 Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Deserved for Disney’s Pinocchio. A soulless husk of a movie.

The GP thought she wasn't the right fit as Whitney and were put off by her casting from the start. And honestly, she looks nothing like Whitney and her acting wasn't impressive enough to overlook how glaringly different she looked from the woman she was portraying. I guarantee had the casting been better, I Wanna Dance With Somebody would have been a bonafied hit. People really downplay how important casting is for biopics. If you don't look like the person, you're acting better be top tier to compensate for it and Ackie just wasn't. Also, these are not fictional characters, but real-life people, not just vehicles to be used for award bait and there is a segment of ppl getting tired of biopics for this very reason. Award bait over actual quality and care for the person and taking the extra time and care to tell their life story without all the Hollywood politics BS attached.

Plus, people are TIRED of Whitney biopics/documentaries, it's tiring because no new information is being shared at all, it's TEW much.

Exactly! I think a well-executed Amy Winehouse-stye documentary would have been the better alternative and much more compelling and would have received way more acclaim and recognition amongst the GP. But all in all, they need to let Nippy rest in peace. Using her name to launch people's careers, garner them awards, fame and money comes across exploitative of her image, but that's true for most biopics nowadays, a la Blonde, but I digress.
