Viewership isn't everything, how many people who started this show actually finished the entire season?

The retention rate must've been pretty low, cause from what I've seen most people thought it was boring.

Of course it did.

 

Higher budget = higher pressure to overperform in every metric. Netflix clearly isn't content with average or even above average viewership for something that costs so much to film and promote.

This is a millionth example of Netflix creating a show that could be 3-4 episodes but dragging it out, making it boring after a while. I just watched The Haunting of Hill House, The Watcher, and now also Midnight Mass - ALL shows that started off amazing but could’ve ended in 3 episodes and by episode 5 for all of them, I was ready to call it quits. They’re so stupid over there. 

This is exactly why I think we should also bring back 60 minute films. Some directors would do better with a shorter run time. Movies like NOPE would've been much better with 30 minutes cut off IMO.
