her voice sounds more sultry, textured, and sophisticated than ever before. the production is perfect and I totally see what she’s going for with this album now. this is the first time I’ve gotten a strong vision and “vibe” from Miley’s sound. It’s so groovy and chill.

 

Also the music video??? She looks incredible and it’s so sexy yet sophisticated. The dancing at the end too is a SLAY. She’s at her best. I’M SOLD GIVE ME SUMMER MADDDYTY!

Plastic Hearts wasn't a flop though, it's her most critically-aclaimed album and best chart performance in years.

 

She's just playing safe in her first new era under a new label. They clearly wanted something easy for radio support.
