Planet Mars Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 I never saw the first film either but good for them. What is it about anyway?
Power love Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 Remember all the ppl who said it would bomb
Taylena Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 Avatar 1 grossed $3 billion ($3.5b adjusted inflation), why should anyone be shocked or upset that the sequel already made 1b at the box office?

Because the movie was released 13 years after the original, and a lot of people thought this movie would be a huge flop.
Sugar-Rush Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 Why did people even like the first one? It was so environmentally preachy and was basically like every other space/sci-fi movie out there in terms of plot and CGI, even by 2009 standards.

There was nothing even remotely comparable to the immersive 3D world of Avatar then or now.

Avatar CGI in 2009 was not the standart at all, like wtf
flower moon Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 and the haters will continue to seethe after years of saying no one would care about the sequels but now they know theyre an internet minority
Blade Runner Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 Wait, but I thought Avatar was forgotten and nobody cared about it.

People watch this move because they like the graphics. No one is rushing to theaters because of the plot.
Guest Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 Why though? Can somebody explain to me the appeal of this movie or do people seriously like drooling over cgi?
