mokitsu Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Anya seems to be mimicking a Nicole Kidman-like career shift right now

chiliam Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 (edited) you clearly know nothing about film world. Box office is just one of the measures for success for actors. The bigger measures is your charisma is enough to carry a movie or not. Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Cat Blanchett... was never big box office star Call me by your name is not a box office hit, but its a vehicle movie that push Timothee`s career to a new high and position himself much better than the like of all Marvel Chris. Ana is doing well, her project is not box office hit but all the review usually mention her strong charisma on screen, that`s alone will help her book more project. aesthetic bih Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Both are talented actress of my generation. And as far as I know actress can always have a "resurgence" even decades after their "big breaks" so she just need to keep improving her skills and find the right roles. So Anya will be fine in the long run

A STAR indeed. But anyway, Anya's doing great.

It is good, it’s clever and fresh, try not to read spoilers. ///// ATJ is doing fine, the Soho and Amsterdam films were messy but it’s not her fault that The Northman flopped when it’s a great film and The Menu is doing on for what it is and she served and got a GG nom, she’s doing Furiosa for 2024.
Sad Serenade Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 (edited) Many points were made here. Acting doesn't work as music, if a movie flops you can't blame actors at first and only, there are many stuff involved like the production and distribution. Second point: Jenna has just started. Let's see where she does in the future. Anya has scored a Golden Globes nomination yesterday so actually she's nothing wrong. Edited December 13, 2022 by Sad Serenade
RunBoyRun Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Can we stop acting like box office numbers matter anymore in terms of actors succeeding? Jennifer Lawrence had multiple box office bombs and is still booking high end gigs with huge directors wanting to work with her. Once established, it's about talent and your reputation within the industry.
Anye Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 Nothing's went wrong with Anya's career. She's doing great.
