And Elden Ring still took the main one and it’s all everybody is talking about. As I said, OVERSHADOWED. :deadbanana:

This is just my opinion but for a game be the GOTY it needs to be accessible to everyone. Souls games have always been notorious for their difficulty and it's such a turn off the time you have to put into them to get familiar with it's mechanics and get better at playing them. I frankly don't have the time. I can appreciate it for it's world as that is truly impressive but on pure enjoyment which I think matters more it loses. God Of War Ragnarok trumps it in that regard.

Well here's the thing Souls game revolutionised the gaming industry by focusing purely on gaming and skills instead of being hollywood movies intercut with toddler mechanics focused on graphic design and story. And now with Elden Ring it has fully crossover to the masses.

Modern games are about instant gratification and lowering the skill ceiling of those who are better than you, so that you who are not as good or you who are not willing to invest as much time as they, can evenly fight on their level with little effort.

And btw GoW is the one who isn't accessible to everyone since it's a PS exclusive. It's a shitty argument.

I want whatever the devs were smoking before they launched a game that looks like this in 2022.

A Cyberpunk level mess, but it was overlooked because all the snot wiping fan-boys of the Dark Souls franchise hyped this mess up.

The graphics were sh*t

The mechanics were sh*t

The unadjustable difficulty level was sh*t

And your taste is sh*t.

No your taste is ****.

Just because you whine over graphics (and lie about it) and cry over a game being hard doesn't mean a game is bad. And posting gifs of  bugs that were fixed ages ago to say it looks like a PS2 game when even with those gifs show its way better than that isn't helping your case.

If you don't like the game, that's fine. But to out right say it's bad because it's too hard for you is petty and whiny.

And I don't even care for these type of games myself but I played a friend's copy for  a couple of hours and even though I didn't beat it, I saw what the hype was about. You just sound like a negative Nancy ( like you are with everything on ATRL).

Lmao telling me this looks like a ps2 game and this is a what ps2 game actually looks like. You need your eyes checked out.

It's only on one console. It's not even on PC yet. How is it accessible to everyone when you need to pay at 500 aka a ps5 ( if you want a new system since ps4s are out of stock) or at least 250 in secondary markets for a ps4 to play it?

Even people that don't care for Souls games ( like myself) have played Elden Ring.

I think what I meant was more focused on the accessibility of the gameplay not on the accessibility of the actual game. It’s easy to pick up GOW and just have a good time. It’s not as effortless with Elden Ring which demands more from you. It definitely comes down to preference for sure. Should’ve clarified on that part.
